Community Involvement

At Wheeler Material Handling, we believe it’s important to be involved and give back in the local communities we serve. Being a good corporate citizen not only benefits local communities, but also our 200+ associates employed companywide and our valued suppliers.

Developing a Strong Internal Culture

It starts first internally at WMH in developing and fostering a strong culture of conducting business honestly, ethically – and building trust, respect and promoting teamwork. We also place the customer experience and value at the forefront of all activities.

Reaching Out to the Community

WMH strives to get involved in the local communities in which we operate by supporting local and national charities by making financial and in-kind contributions – but also volunteering time. This is an outgrowth of our core values: integrity, family, customers, excellent customer service, and community.

We see this as an opportunity to actively support the communities that help us grow. Our community involvement is directed toward local agencies and non-profit organizations that provide needed services to those local communities and beyond

Samaritan’s Purse – Operation Christmas Child

Thousands of Christmas “Shoebox Gifts” prepared each year

Millions of lives are touched by shoebox gifts collected each year. Each precious gift is carefully inspected and prepared for overseas shipment by caring people like you. Processing Centers are open from the Tuesday before Thanksgiving, through the third week in December in most cases.

A Helping Hand

Wheeler Material Handling is honored to donate Yale rental forklifts each year to help move the thousands of pallets that are shipped around the world.

Common Heart

Common Heart, a non-profit charitable organization since 2006, provides groceries on a weekly basis to families in need in the greater Charlotte NC area. What began in 2006 as four friends, is now more than 250 friends serving hungry families each and every month! A typical week’s worth of groceries to are delivered by volunteers to more than 1,000 local people and another 1,000 are served through their traditional food pantry.

Since 2007, a very special annual event is hosted during Thanksgiving. Through donations and local volunteers, Common Heart has organized a Thanksgiving Day meal consisting of a frozen turkey with all the side fixin’s to local families in need. In 2017, over 1,000 Thanksgiving meals were delivered to families in need.

Wheeler Material Handling is proud to partner with Common Heart in helping give back to our local communities.
